Anna Rose comes from a multi-talented family. Her mother owns a dance studio, her 22 year-old sister is a musical theater actress, and not to mention her father Alan Menken- a famed Hollywood American film composer and pianist who has won 8 Oscars for his work on various Disney animated films as, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Pocahontas. So natural talent comes to Anna Rose, who just this spring, released her debut album, Nomad (White Pony Records/Megaforce via RED.)
Anna, 25, is a cheerful blonde who might be mistaken for a native of Southern California but yet is actually a native New Yorker. We here at AmoreMagazine.com can't help but give her a close comparison to a Natalie Merchant of today. One look at her video for Picture and Merchant's hit Carnival comes to mind. So what is she? A musician that has been trained by some of the best including Arlen Roth, the celebrated guitarist who has performed with Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. A musician that has taken her talents and applied them to a foundation for a strong music career with her debut album, Nomad.
She's taking her career one day at a time and wants to be the best she can be with every new album after Nomad. Nomad is a testament to her perseverance so far.
For a tough act to follow, her father has to be proud of a daughter who's talents have yet to be pushed to her limits on the guitar. At this very second she might still be known to some as Alan Menken's daughter, but someday very soon Alan Menken will be known as Anna Rose's father. And so what, if she's a few Oscars shy.
