Victoria Beckham says she longer has any passion for the Spice Girls.
“I realized it was finished for good in 2008, when we reformed for our reunion tour,” Beckham, 39,she told Vogue Paris. “It should have been the best moment of my life, but I just wanted to be elsewhere.”
Have to say I understand it. I felt the same way about the flute in the 7th grade. My mom was devastated when I told her I was closing up the case and essentially pissing on any dream she had for me as an internationally known flautist. Was the flute going to help me with my street cred? Believe it or not no one is clamoring to take the piper to the 8th grade prom. Blowing air through a metal pipe doesn’t exactly pay the bills. I was too preoccupied with whether Kevin Arnold and Winnie Cooper would make out on Wonder Years. Who wants to hear Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know on a flute? Who wants to make out with a girl who travels with her own silver polish cloth for her instrument? Uh, no one.
Sometimes you just need to call it a day. She wanted to be known for being a fashion designer. I was tired of my metal braces splitting open the inside of my mouth.
I get it, sister friend. I get it.
